Import Duties, Taxes & Customs Charges

As most of our stock is shipped directly from Thailand, international orders may be subject to import duties, VAT, customs clearance fees or local taxes upon delivery.

These charges are not included in the product price or shipping cost. They are determined by your country’s customs authority and collected by the courier (e.g. FedEx, DHL) before or after delivery.

United States

US customers may be charged:

  • Import duty depending on product category
  • State sales tax (where applicable)
  • Courier clearance/admin fees

Some recent US customers have reported fees in the range of $25–$40, but this varies by state and customs assessment.

European Union

EU customers may be charged:

  • Local VAT
  • Import duties (depending on order value)
  • Courier handling fees

Charges vary by country and order value.

United Kingdom

UK customers may be charged:

  • UK import VAT (usually 20% of the declared value)
  • Customs duty (depending on product classification)
  • Courier clearance or handling fees

These charges are applied by UK customs and are outside of our control.

Why This Happens

We hold the majority of our stock in Bangkok to:

  • Offer a wider range of authentic Thai brands
  • Provide sizes and colourways that are often unavailable locally
  • Avoid long UK restock delays

Shipping directly from Thailand allows us to supply genuine Thai gear directly from the source, but international customs regulations apply in most countries.

Important Before Placing Your Order

By placing an order, you acknowledge that any import duties, VAT or customs fees required by your country are the responsibility of the customer.

If you would like an estimate of potential charges before ordering, please contact us and we will do our best to assist.

If your order is shipped via DHL and is subject to import duties, taxes, or customs fees, DHL will contact you directly via email, SMS, and/or phone to request payment by a specified deadline.

It is the customer’s responsibility to pay all import duties and taxes within the timeframe set by DHL.

If payment is not made by the deadline, DHL may dispose of the shipment in accordance with their policies.

In the event that a shipment is disposed of due to unpaid import fees:

  • The order will be considered fulfilled
  • No refunds, replacements, or exchanges will be issued
  • Nak Muay Training is not responsible for missed communications, payment deadlines, or disposal actions taken by DHL

By placing an order with us, you acknowledge and accept these terms.

All orders are shipped from Thailand via DHL Express or FedEx and takes around 3-5 working days to arrive.

Please allow 1 or 2 working days for your order to be processed for shipping.

UK Orders

  • Shipping Time: 1-2 working days.

For UK orders, we have have UK-held stock and shipped via Royal Mail.

International Orders

  • Shipping Time: 3-5 working days.

For International orders, our products are shipped from Thailand via DHL Express and FedEx.

We are a UK-based company but all our products are shipped from Bangkok, Thailand. This is to make sure we have the largest range of authentic Muay Thai products constantly available for you with brands, designs and sizes that are usually hard to get in other countries like the UK and US.

Yes! We are able to ship worldwide mainly using DHL Express and FedEx but occasionally Royal Mail for some orders.

If you are experiencing issues upon checkout, please contact us here.

Contact us by email as soon as possible and we will update the delivery address on your order.

Unfortunately, if your order has already been shipped we will not be able to change the address. We will have to wait for the courier to return the item before shipping again.

If you need to change or cancel an order please contact us as soon as possible. If your order has not yet been dispatched, we will be able to make changes or cancellations.

However, if your order has already been dispatched we will need to wait until it has been delivered to arrange a return or exchange. 

If a customer refuses delivery for any reason e.g. import taxes or wants to cancel the order after it has been shipped, they will be liable for any shipping charges or import taxes for the item to be returned to our warehouse.
